...isn't a painting at all, but features one of my photographs of Skyline Drive in Virginia's Shenandoah National Park. So I am officially in business.

What will I paint?
I've been painting a lot of lighthouses lately, partly because it's good practice -- the shapes are simple so there's room to play with paint and texture instead of stressing about detail -- and partly because I just think painting waves is fun. And I have this nagging feeling this is supposed to be fun.

The American Dream
I'm a shopkeeper! Sort of. On CafePress, that is. So I have no physical store, nor do I have any inventory, nor do I even have any designs uploaded, yet, but I believe in micromovements, and this was a good one.
I will post the link as soon as I have something to sell.

Jumping In, Head First
My god.
I am now officially self-employed. Or sort of. Since I am consumed by the idea that I am capable of making a living through art and freelance writing, and since I simultaneously quit my retail job because of scheduling conflicts with the rest of my life, then I must be self-employed, in spite of the fact that I'm not actually bringing in an income. Yet.
I believe. I believe. I believe I can do this. I believe I can make a living and really live in the making.
